Shift4 + Finero

Keep your Shift4 merchant account. Finero adds the receivables workflow on top: chasing, hosted payment pages, and cash applied back to your ledger by line.

Common among North American distributors, wholesalers and field-service businesses that adopted Shift4 for card-present or omnichannel volume and then inherited a B2B invoice book alongside it. Finero adds the collection layer without renegotiating the merchant relationship or moving settlement.

How Finero uses Shift4

Keep your existing Shift4 merchant agreement and payment provider relationship.

Charge at due date

When an invoice falls due, Finero coordinates collection through Shift4.

Hosted pay pages

Settlement reconciliation

Shift4 settlement files are matched to invoices and posted to your ERP without manual work.

What Shift4 means for B2B invoices

Choosing a processor for consumer checkout and choosing one for invoices on terms are different problems. Our buyer’s framework covers the general case. Here is where Shift4 lands on it.

Level 2 and Level 3 interchange data

Shift4 documents Level 2 purchasing card data and recommends supplying it for all certifications, which is what lets an eligible commercial or purchasing card qualify for lower interchange on a large invoice. Its published guide covers Level 2 specifically. If your invoices are large enough that Level 3 line-item detail would change the rate, confirm that separately with Shift4 rather than assuming it follows, because the two are certified independently.

Getting large invoices off cards

ACH runs through the Nacha network and Shift4 documents it as a non-guaranteed, delayed-notification method: acceptance is not settlement, and the final status arrives later by webhook. That distinction matters more in receivables than anywhere else, because an invoice marked paid on submission can un-pay itself days later. Finero treats the webhook as the event that closes an invoice, not the submission, so the ledger does not have to be corrected after the fact.

Where Shift4 is the right answer

Sellers already holding a Shift4 merchant account who want B2B invoices collected without a second processor relationship. It is a particularly good fit where card volume is card-present and the invoice book is the newer, less-tooled half of the business.

FAQ: Finero with Shift4

Do we keep our Shift4 fees?

Yes. Finero doesn't markup processing. You keep your existing Shift4 merchant agreement and pricing.

Where do funds settle?

Directly into your Shift4 merchant account on your existing payout schedule. Finero never holds your funds.

Can we switch processors later?

Yes. Finero is provider-agnostic. If you move off Shift4, the receivables workflow keeps running with no change to your buyers' experience.
